Guy Reschenthaler is an American politician who is a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate, representing the 37th district. A Republican, he previously served as a district judge and in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAG) during the Iraq War. ==Biography== Reschenthaler graduated from Penn State Erie, The Behrend College in 2004 with a B.A. in political science and from the Duquesne University School of Law in Pittsburgh with a J.D. in 2007. After law school, Reschenthaler served in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps (JAG) in Iraq.〔 After his Navy service, Reschenthaler returned to Pittsburgh to practice law in spring 2012 before being elected magisterial district judge in Pittsburgh's South Hills in 2013.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=https://psbehrend.psu.edu/school-of-humanities-social-sciences/academic-programs-1/political-science/student-groups-alumni/political-science-advisory-board )〕 After the resignation of Democratic state senator Matt Smith, Reschenthaler was selected by a Republican Party committee in July 2015 to run in the special election to replace him as the Republican nominee. He defeated the Democratic nominee, Heather Arnet, in the general election to serve the remainder of Smith's term, ending in 2017.
